The connectors are extremely rugged and can carry 60A of continuous current per contact, eliminating the need for multiple contacts to shunt when supporting battery charging applications.

Mouser-distributed Harwin Kona connectors feature a fully gold-plated six-finger beryllium copper contact design with an 8.5mm pitch, and each male and female contact is individually wrapped to protect against accidental contact and physical damage. Designed for use in harsh environments, this series of connectors relies on a robust wire-to-board design to maintain electrical continuity even under severe vibration and shock. Its female housing has stainless steel thumbscrews for easy servicing without the use of any tools.

Kona connectors also feature an innovative “meat-then-lock” mechanism that ensures contacts are fully mated before mating. The connectors are rugged enough to withstand 250 mating cycles, operate over a wide temperature range of −65°C to 150°C, and have a maximum voltage rating of 5kV.

Available in single row two-, three-, and four-contact options, Kona power connectors are suitable for use in harsh conditions for a variety of applications, including power control systems, robotic drives, electric vehicle battery monitoring and management, satellites, and drone.
