The Ukrainian government has seized what may be one of the largest underground mining farms ever, using 3,800 Sony PS4 game consoles for mining.
Sustaining a massive mining operation requires an unusually large supply of electricity, which is often prohibited. China is also removing the mining industry that consumes huge amounts of energy recently, and the computing power of the entire Bitcoin network has dropped sharply as a result.

The Ukrainian Security Service said the mine was stealing between $186,200 and $259,300 a month in electricity.
The company that operates the mine said its mining operations were in a warehouse in the city of Vinnytsia previously owned by a company called JSC Vinnytsiaoblenerho, which denied all allegations of involvement in the theft of electricity.

Law enforcement agencies also did not reveal issues about electricity theft during the inspection, the company said. The company believes that the theft of hundreds of thousands of dollars in electricity is not true. The management of the JSC Vinnytsiaoblenergo company is also actively cooperating with the investigation and hopes that all the facts will be discovered and the perpetrators will be punished as soon as possible.
The Ukrainian Security Service said the huge electricity consumption at the mining farms has led to a surge in electricity consumption in the region, which may lead to power outages.
In addition to the PS4, authorities also confiscated items containing 500 graphics cards, 50 processors, phones, USB sticks and other documents.

The Ukrainian Security Service said miners would be prosecuted for unauthorized use of water, electricity or heat.
Ukrainian law enforcement has conducted several high-profile cybersecurity campaigns in recent months, most notably a raid on the Clop ransomware. He also participated in the global crackdown on Emotet and assisted Europol in dismantling darknet markets.
