The 2021 Huawei China Ecological Conference was held yesterday (May 17). Regarding Huawei’s Hongmeng ecosystem, Huawei’s rotating chairman Xu Zhijun said that it is expected that at least 300 million devices will be equipped with the Hongmeng system by the end of this year.
Huawei Hongmeng System is a distributed operating system for all scenarios. On August 9, 2019, Huawei officially released Hongmeng OS. According to the plan, HarmonyOS will open source code for 128KB-128MB terminal devices such as screens, watches, and automobiles from September 10, 2020, and open source code for 128MB-4GB terminal devices such as memory in April 2021, and after October 2021 Open source code for all devices over 4GB.
According to media reports, Huawei Hongmeng operating system will officially start large-scale push in June at the earliest.
Xu Zhijun predicted at the Huawei China Ecological Conference that at least 300 million devices will be equipped with the Hongmeng system by the end of this year, of which 200 million will be Huawei’s equipment.
